Hands can’t cup
images painted over waves.
                                           Petals of sun,
                            streams of chrysanthemum.
              How quickly they trickle
                            through my fingers.

              Now, an image
                           I care for. A face:
                                          eyes, nose, lips
               and knowing the skin
                         is of glass,
                         already shattered.
